Greetings. We are Rogue Set Media, an independent film production team. Mike Forstein is the director (and editor and cinematographer) and me, I'm the producer (and main writer, and sometime stand-in) - my name is Colin Keith Thomsen.

This is a start, but by no means where things started.

Before this site came together, Mike and I had worked on several film and video projects together over the last three years. But before that we were friends and prolific editors of each other's work and writing. And before that we were classmates. And before that, we were living our lives, we were born, we learned to walk and speak and read and realize that something was deeply, drastically wrong and so made millions of choices that lead to one day of destiny when a potato and a plan changed our lives forever. If you don't know what I'm talking about, well, I've got a story for you.

Welcome to Roguesetmedia.com. Here you'll find information about who we are, what we've worked on, and what we're working on right now. You'll find some of our previous projects and some fairly in-depth histories of each (namely, Potet, Wanted and Babymaker) plus some additional unseen and behind-the-scenes material, as well as regular updates on our projects in process.

And what do we have in process? Immediately on deck we have three different projects starring our friend, actor and emcee Paul Yutaka. We're in pre-production on two music videos for Paul, and in post-production on a very different item altogether, entitled "This Is Sex," a mockumentary-style interview starring Paul as Phallik, a sex-obsessed music producer. This Is Sex also features some amazing animation by Kazimir Iskander and dialogue so brazenly weird, I can't believe I didn't write it. To wit: "I listen to my dick. That's why my back is fucked up. Think about this shit!"

And then there's one more thing. Currently we are writing our first feature. Based on a short story by our friend Joshua Ben-Noah Carlson, our project, under the working title Rush City, is a story about power, sex and money (it's a family film). Writing it is going to be a long road, and we'll be blogging about the experience extensively, right here.
